Sterilisation packaging, a convenient storage means for sterilised instruments
Sterilisation packaging is used to contain instruments when they are sent to sterilisation. After cleaning, the tools are kept in the bag and are only removed during use. This prevents contamination of the tools before their next use.
The different types of sterilisation packaging
Sterilisation packaging can be manufactured in different equipment (paper, Tyvek, polypropylene, etc.) available in several sizes. It is also distinguished according to the manner of closure, and the pockets are either adhesive or heat-sealed.
If you are using gas or steam sterilisation equipment, the ideal solution is to wrap your instruments in a double-sided pocket made of plastic and paper, which facilitates the penetration of the cleaning agent inside. If you use decontamination by dry heat, it’s best to opt for resistant plastic sleeves.
You can keep your utensils in their sterilisation packaging for 3 months.
